Welspun Corp Ltd Fundamental
Fundamental analysis, large-diameter pipes manufacturing profile and growth triggers for Welspun Corp Ltd.
Welspun Corp Ltd (WCL) is a leading global manufacturer of large-diameter pipes with significant exposure to oil & gas and water infrastructure. The company operates five manufacturing facilities in India across Anjar, Bhopal, Mandya and Jhagadia, along with strategic international operations in Little Rock, USA and Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
WCL primarily manufactures large-diameter line pipes, ductile iron pipes and stainless steel bars. The acquisition of Sintex in 2023 marked its entry into the building materials segment, adding water tanks, plastic pipes, interior and electrical products, and TMT bars to its product mix.
The company has approximately 2.2 MMTPA of installed pipe manufacturing capacity and a consolidated order book of around ₹23,500 crore as of October 2025, providing strong visibility across its core infrastructure-focused businesses.
Global pipeline demand is expected to benefit from the expansion of US LNG exports, projected to rise from 16 bcfd to more than 25 bcfd over the next three years. The rapid growth of AI-led data centres is also expected to drive incremental natural gas demand of 8–10 bcfd and require dedicated gas pipelines, translating into an estimated 8,000–9,000 miles of new pipeline infrastructure over the medium term.
Sustained investments in water and energy infrastructure across Saudi Arabia and India provide long-term sector visibility. Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 includes 4,000 km of oil & gas pipelines, 2,000 km of large-diameter water transmission lines and 200 KTPA of ductile iron pipe import substitution.
India is also continuing investments in gas grid expansion and large-scale water transmission and distribution projects, supporting structural demand for large-diameter pipes and related infrastructure products.
