South West Pinnacle Exploration Ltd (SWPEL), incorporated in 2006 and headquartered in Gurugram, is among India's largest private exploration services companies, engaged in drilling and exploration of coal, minerals and coal bed methane. Services span wireline core and reverse circulation drilling, 2D/3D seismic, aquifer mapping and geological consultancy.

The company operates a fleet of about 40 rigs and has completed 165+ projects for clients including CMPDI, Coal India subsidiaries, NALCO, Hindustan Zinc, Oil India and Reliance Industries. It is moving up the value chain towards mine ownership, having been accredited as a prospecting agency for its own Jharkhand coal block.

India's exploration spend is in a structural upcycle, driven by the National Critical Mineral Mission, accelerated auctioning of mineral and coal blocks, and MMDR amendments that opened exploration to accredited private agencies.

Exploration intensity in India remains well below global benchmarks. Government-funded exploration via NMET and CMPDI, alongside rising private capex in critical minerals and CBM, underpins multi-year order visibility.
